'It's like they never miss a pass': The Swans' Galbraith renews clash with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith grins broadly as he reminisces about the dramatic dying seconds of his team's stunning fightback win against Nottingham Forest in the League Cup. The game ended with Galbraith temporarily wearing a supporter's spectacles following the post-goal scrum.

During the final moments of stoppage time, Galbraith cracked the upright with a powerful strike from 25 yards, and his teammate immediately converted the deflection before charging toward the crowd to revel in the moment, with supporters mobbing the players.

Remarkable Recovery

The victory completed an incredible recovery given the team had trailed 2-0 during the latter period. During the celebrations, there was some collateral damage. Galbraith explained, "There was a supporter shouting out and we were puzzled: 'What's he on about here?' Then we spotted the glasses. It was a bit of banter putting them on. We are on the pitch as players but we're humans, too, so to have a bit of craic with the fans is always good."

Manchester City Challenge

That win secured a next round fixture at home against the Premier League champions on Wednesday, opponents Galbraith ran close at the comparable phase of the FA Cup with Leyton Orient in February. The athletic midfielder had arguably the best view when Orient took the lead in stunning style, with the attacker's volley from about 45 yards going in via the crossbar and the opposition keeper. Many argued that it was credited as an own goal.

"You would have hoped they would've given it to him for having a go from that range," stated Galbraith, who played in the middle before moving to right flank after the team changed formation. That meant competing with City's winger, with whom he traded tops, and the player was among the City players who praised the way his former team approached the match.

City's Quality

"Fitness-wise they are very good but even the fundamentals and routine actions, they can just execute repeatedly," the midfielder notes. "It feels like they never miss a pass and they know how to dictate and slow down a game. You can think you're holding your own and then without warning they will just thread a ball between defenders without you even seeing. You have to be switched on at all times of the game. It demands a resilient mindset and focus just to remain competitive."

Swansea Move

The club were keen on Galbraith in January and fought off rivals to bring him in in the summer in a seven-figure transfer. He made a name as a fans' favourite across two seasons at Leyton Orient and has quickly done the same in south Wales. At his previous team he linked up again with his former manager, who earlier gave Galbraith his initial sustained opportunity in first-team action on loan at a League One side from Manchester United. Then came a loan at League Two Salford, before he departed Old Trafford.

Growth Journey

"I was likely a slightly green going into senior level. I think many athletes would say development squad matches is completely distinct. Sometimes it appears possession is exchanged without serious challenge. You see few physical contests. Once you start playing first-team football you have to adapt rapidly."

Country Call-ups

His progress reflects that development for both domestically and internationally, excelling for the Green and White Army, who are fighting to qualify for the global tournament next summer via the knockout phase and for whom he has started the past five games, including both legs fixtures against a football powerhouse. His former international manager, Galbraith's previous international manager, paid him the highest praise, saying he was Northern Ireland's "midfield general" given how he manipulates the ball and his eye for a game-changing assist.

Starting Out

This marks a remarkable path for the youngster from the Queens Park estate in his hometown, just outside the capital, who grew up watching his dad, the elder Galbraith, also a midfielder, play for a local club.

Old Trafford Memory

His single match for Manchester United came in Kazakhstan in 2019, a European competition trip to Astana, where they competed on an artificial pitch and the stadium roof was sealed owing to the weather of freezing cold. "It was a extended travel and it was cold out there," he recalls, chuckling. "The days leading up, myself and quite a few of the young lads worked out jointly, so that helped us acclimatise. Just to travel with the first team and make an appearance at the end was amazing."

Leaving United

What was the challenge was it to move on from Old Trafford, the club he signed from his boyhood team aged a teenager? "This turned out quite easy, because I arrived at the moment where I understood I wouldn't break through at the top level. I'm hugely grateful for the experience gained but it reached a stage where I believed I had to take a different path, move to a lower level and play first-team games. Now I'm gradually climbing the ladder."

New Environment

This occurs during the middle of the day at the team's practice facility but Galbraith has somewhere to be at the early evening: a learner's exam, another step towards getting on the road. Before his recent move to his new neighborhood, the young professional was a frequent passenger in Swansea's so-called fun bus, a small coach driven by team personnel, Pete and Howard, which transports players to and from practice and games.

"It's myself Gonçalo Franco, Ronald, the midfielder – Melker Widell used to be in it but has got his license. It's enjoyable to interact with the guys but I'm planning to be the subsequent individual to drive independently and on the road. His teammate is known for his humor; he's frequently playing tricks."

Supporter Connections

While playing for Leyton Orient, Galbraith would mix with supporters on public transport after beginning his trip at the area he lived in. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
